The scientist “Daan Roosegaarde” from Delft University of Technology developed a tower is about seven meter (23 feet) high structure that cleans outdoor air or pollution from air. The air from surrounding the tower is drawn into the structure then clean air is blown from the structure/tower back into the environment. It can clean 30,000 cubic meter of air per hour consuming 1400 watts of electricity. The pollution must be dissolved from the air because the environmental threat is growing due to grown traffic that direct affect to our health according to the world health organization.
Air pollution causes fatal diseases that take the lives to almost death. Different countries show the ratio of death from pollution such as United States 53,000 deaths every year, England one death out of every twelve deaths, China approx 17% of all deaths. Pollution spread air particles that are micrometers in diameter that settle to the ground when you breath these particles just penetrate your lungs tissue and get absorbed unfiltered into your blood stream that is a great reason for rising diseases. A specific kind of bacteria that is called MRSA (resistant to antibiotic) that spreads from human to human by traveling in the air on dust, this tower is best for preventing the bacteria from spreading in this way.
The current air pollution control system reduces the pollution but do not eliminate properly. But “Daan Roosegaarde” invention developed large scalable tower that dissolve/remove pollution quite properly. The invention won German design award for excellent product design from German Ministry of Economics and Technology. Now this tower is tested in Beijing by the Chinese Ministry of environmental protection. It seems in future it will be working in all around the world. The inventor said it can be created larger version according the environmental condition.
