Hybrid Driving! Fly without any Obstacle and Colliding!
Introducing
the latest version in robots that can drive on the ground without any obstacle,
fly independently without colliding with each other could go beyond the flying
car concept. A roboticist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s
Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and his colleagues said
that this is the strangest robot because usually robots were performing their
best at one mode of transportation, but the latest robots have ability to both
fly and walk like a bird.
The
robot has been developed with the installed program build –in that can both fly
and drive with setting itself a safe path, parking spot, landing pad, in shortly
the robot can find its own safe path without colliding with each other, while
previous developed robot named “flying monkey” that could drive and fly but
couldn’t find the safe routes by itself. The robot has two small motors with
wheels on the bottom for driving that can run away 826 feet (252 meters) before
the batteries ran out and fly about 295 feet (90 meters) from the ground. It
has been tested in a miniature town decorated with a complete set–up that must
be for a robot, this robot successfully navigated from a starting point to an
ending point on collision-free paths. So it is a complete and latest robot that
has a range of important applications in the future for taking benefits.
The
researchers said the driving apparatus that reduces the battery life so
slightly than flying apparatus because the flying with added weight consumes
more battery. The scientist noted that driving more efficient that flying.
Vehicle
that combines flying and driving is the most important for robotic working
because both have potential much more efficient and much more useful than
vehicles. The current system of robotic strength certainly isn’t robust to
carry people right now. The scientists are looking for developing and
experiment of various ideas of flying cars.
