“Texas
Instruments” Presentation.
The
3-channel constant-current linear LED controller has been introduced from
"Texas Instruments" that is the best for designers for designing
quite beautiful in more lighting flexibility. This LED controller introduced
for Automotive applications 3-channel high side linear LED Controller without
internet MOSFETs. The controller "TPS92831-Q1" always requires the
use of external MOSFETs that is often advantageous or at least more convenient
than use of fewer external components according to Texas Instruments (TI), TI
refers or more believes on use of external MOSFETs because the engineers gain
greater flexibility in their automotive lighting designs.
Let's
tell you about linear regulators, the car manufacturers get more relaxed from
linear constant-current regulators that always help them to meet strict EMC and
reliability requirements. The regulators make more lighting effects to the
car's brake light, tail light and headlight as bright as the sun. This is the
high current power MOSFETs.
This
IC requires normal range of temperature that is -40°C to 125°C is considered a
wide ambient temperature range for automotive grade. it will have to be
protected from faulty channel by the help of short-to-GND and open circuit
detection, once it detected, the TPS92831-Q1 runs and disables the faulty
channel and enters an automatic retry mode, when the auto-retry mode completed
and determines the faulty channel has been resolved then IC resumes normal
operation. This controller has the three methods of dimming the LEDs.
These three functions "temperature range" "short-to-GND and open circuit detection" "dimming" are the protection and features for this constant-current linear LED controller.
The
automotive application manufacturers should to adopt the said LED controller
for taking more powerful results from lighting flexibility because this is the
new and latest technology in this regards. The data sheet also describes its
functions for lighting effects positively and rather clearly. You can find it
more convenient right there in the sheet.
